Your dog is a carnivore and shares his anatomy with the gray wolf – which means his body, teeth and jaws, and short digestive tract is adapted for a diet rich in meat, protein, and fat.
Based on this biological fact, and to produce a nutritional analysis that mirrors the diet Mother Nature would provide for your dog, ACANA Wild Mackerel is rich in nourishing fish proteins and oils, all the while limiting unwanted carbohydrates and synthetic additives.

ACANA Wild Mackerel benefits dogs of every breed and size. Just like you, your dog is a unique individual and his feeding requirements will vary with environment, age and activity.
The table below provides a starting point, to be adjusted as needed to maintain optimum weight and peak conditioning. We suggest monitoring your dog’s weight and adjusting rations as needed. We recommend feeding twice daily and always keeping fresh, clean water available.
When switching diets, it’s important to transition your dog as it takes time for his digestive system to adapt to the richer nutrient levels in ACANA. Over a 5-7 day period, gradually mix in ACANA, increasing the amount each day so that by day 7 you are feeding 100% ACANA.
